1
Pilot Project 1 (led by INWRDAM)
- Design and initiate a “marketplace” in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) to promote exchange between academia, practitioners, and young water professionals (entrepreneurs) towards demand- and market-oriented research and knowledge transfer.
2
Pilot Project 2 (led by INWRDAM)
- Develop a well field management toolbox.
- Transfer knowledge on the results of the pilot project to the decision-making process.
- Bring a research-based software to market application.
- Feasibility studies: estimation of the innovation potential for Jordan concerning the pilot study area.
3
Pilot Project 3 (led by INWRDAM)
- Set up a Soil & Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model for the Wala dam.
- Collect missing information.
- Show the advantage of enhancing capacities and data exchange to solve complex management problems in the water sector.
4
Pilot Project 4 (led by INWRDAM)
- Flood Risk Mapping. The aim is to help decision-makers take measures to reduce the exposure of vulnerable communities, visitors, and infrastructure in the area to climate-induced natural flash flooding hazards.
5
Pilot Project 5 (led by INWRDAM)
- Design a systematic approach to develop demand-oriented master’s theses topics for GJU, TUM, FUB, and TH Köln students; support GJU in gaining limited access to data from other universities through the national water information system and Jordan’s Meteorological Department (JMD), and format the delivery of master’s theses and research results to the ministries
6
Pilot Project 6 (led by GJU)
- Assess the potential of the “national steering committees” in Jordan as an interface for data and knowledge transfer between academia and other stakeholders.
7
Pilot Project 7 (led by GJU) *
Integrate research practice interfaces in designing and implementing the “River Basin Management Platform” Project in Wadi Mujib in cooperation with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) (first and second year), with a thematic focus on:
- Mujib Basin with a focus on the Wala Dam system evaluation and analysis,
- Assessment of climate change impacts at the basin level,
- Hydroponic system piloting and analysis within the Mujib Basin.
8
Pilot Project 8 (led by GJU)
- Design in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Agriculture a systematic approach to develop demand-oriented master’s theses topics for GJU and TH Köln master students; format the delivery of master’s theses and research results to the ministries the potential of the “national steering committees” in Jordan as an interface for data and knowledge transfer between academia and other stakeholders.
