Water Solution Labs are real frameworks of an innovation ecosystem, where interactions with reference to the real world and particular outcomes take place. These labs offer spaces for dialogue, exchange, and transfer, through which innovation can happen. The Mujib Basin Water Solution Lab will be a reference for education, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship and promote interfaces for intensive interactions between universities and stakeholders and within multiple sectors of agriculture, water, and education.
Lecturers and researchers from project partner universities and stakeholders will co-design and jointly set up the Mujib Basin Water Solution Lab concept. The intended research-based innovation concept will be piloted through “Pilot Projects,” which will serve as interfaces for collaboration between scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders from various sectors, channeling the existing capacities of academia towards demand- and market-oriented research and effective knowledge transfer. Another intended objective of the designed Water Solution Labs is to provide students, who serve as important actors in the Labs, with practice-oriented knowledge and market demanded competences.
The Water Solution Labs concept will lead to:
- Strengthened systematic information flow and exchange among researchers, practitioners, and young professionals.
- Demand-oriented and innovative master’s and Ph.D. theses topics as part of the pilot projects, with a focus on the Mujib Basin Water Solution Lab.
- Formation of new projects based on the concept of research-driven innovation.
